- Definitively articulate competencies (skills, behaviors, attributes) sustainability practitioners need to successfully accelerate SDG outcomes globally and regionally.
- Connect over 100,000 sustainability practitioners and give them a voice and space to learn from each other.
- Make sustainability “doable” and “accessible” to everyone by telling stories of every-day sustainability practitioners.
- Contribute to the establishment of the global “sustainability” profession movement.
HOW THIS STUDY WILL ACCELERATE IMPACT
As the global sustainability crisis accelerates, social, economic, and environmental disasters are increasingly devastating life across the globe.1 Despite over $350 billion in annual funding pouring into programs aimed at abating the calamity, only 3% of the UN’s SDGs have been achieved since they were set in 2015.2 Financing must increase, but money is not the root problem.
The world needs millions of competent, united, globally diverse, sustainability-minded advocates who have the energy, skills, experience, and network to accelerate positive change in local communities, in non-profit and for-profit organizations, and in government at all levels. This study will act as a catalyst to raising Sustainability Accelerator Advocates globally by achieving the following:

Sustainability Accelerator Monitor (SAM)
Our on-the-ground team of 300+ Sustainability Accelerator Monitors play the most important role in the Global Study. SAMs represent 150 countries and will give voice to thousands of sustainability practitioners around the world. We invite you to join us by applying to become a SAM!
SAM Responsibilities
- Identify Partner Organizations: Work with Regional Directors to identify and enroll 10 partner organizations in your region.
- Collect Data: Invite sustainability practitioners in partner organizations to respond to surveys. Collect 3-4 Sustainability hero stories.
- Share Results: Share overall findings and custom reports with partner organizations.
