The Concept: Sustainability Accelerator is the embodiment of a vision wherein millions of likeminded change agents around the world actively work within their own spheres of influence to accelerate global sustainability, as defined by the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (e.g., no poverty, reduce inequalities, climate action, etc.).

Yes! We are incorporated legally as a Benefit Corporation, and as such, our responsibility is to strive to meet the needs of ALL our stakeholders rather than focusing primarily on executing fiduciary responsibilities for shareholders.

Benefit Corporations are leaders of a global movement to use business as a force for good, and we voluntarily self-report performance standards. Being a Benefit Corporation directly aligns with our business model of inspiring social and environmental change as a means to improve the human condition, increase social consciousness, and accelerate sustainability. This ensures that we’re able to closely monitor our performance against our goals as the organization grows and evolves.

We launched in February 2015 in a garage attic when our founder, who worked for a global talent and leadership consulting firm, determined to shift focus towards supporting organizations and projects that were making a difference for good. Initial projects included supporting cell phone technology solutions for banking and communication for the poorest of the poor in Bangladesh, providing training and organizational structure support for an NGO supporting local manufacturing in Ghana, and working with government leaders in Mauritius to build a national roadmap for a sustainable future. Since those early days, we have been honored to work with and learn from many great sustainability heroes around the world.
